Tier 31 Tier Set Bonus

• 2-piece Bonus: Feral Frenzy grants Smoldering Frenzy, increasing all damage you deal by 20% for 8 sec.
• 4-piece Bonus: Feral Frenzy's cooldown is reduced by 15 sec. During Smoldering Frenzy, enemies burn for 10% of damage you deal as Fire over 10 sec.

Our Tier Set this time around interacts with the Talent Feral Frenzy and effectively does nothing without so it NEEDS to be talented in all scenarios. Our 2-Set Bonus grants us a buff that increases all damage we deal by 20% for 8 seconds, while the 4-Set Bonus reduces the cooldown of Feral Frenzy by 15 seconds and also makes the buff granted by the 2-Set Bonus also make us cause an addition 10% of all damage we deal as Fire damage over 10 seconds, an effect very similar to Berserk: Frenzy. This Tier works out to be roughly a 13% dps gain compared to having to Tier Set equipped at equal Item Level.

With such an obviously Burst Damage focused Tier Set, it should be obvious that you want to fit as much damage into those 8 seconds as possible.

Notable Gear in Season 3

Rashon, the Immortal Blaze: Your best in slot weapon (always subject to Item Level). It has a pretty straightforward damage proc attached to it that does damage to both you and your damage, which is increased by 400% if the recipient’s health is above 90%.

Borrowed Time: The best weapon available from Mythic+. The Timestrike on it is effectively a small damage proc. This is not replaced until at least Heroic Rashon from regular Mythic+ (when fully upgraded) and Mythic Rashon when acquired from your M+ Vault on the Myth track (when fully upgraded).

Witherbark's Branch: Our best Trinket from Mythic+. It spawns 3 orbs which slowly move towards you and picking them up grants you a large amount of Mastery. It is important to note that picking up an orb refreshes the duration. In practice this means that you want to grab the first two orbs as soon as possible, use your cooldowns with just 2 stacks of the buff, then delay picking up the third as much as possible to enable you to have the highest possible uptime on a high amount of stacks. This Trinket pairs up very well with Convoke the Spirits, giving you a large amount of Mastery for a short duration and being on a 2 minute Cooldown.

Ashes of the Embersoul: Though mostly strictly inferior to Witherbark's Branch at similar Item Level, this Trinket fills a similar niche without the hassle of having to worry about picking up orbs in the middle of a messy Raid fight, much less having to worry about maximising the timing and stacks.

Notable Crafted Gear

Slimy Expulsion BootsandToxic Thorn Footwrapsare two pairs of boots that have a damage proc and a downside. Both options have similar values, but Slimy Expulsion Boots slightly outperforms the other. The main difference between the two is that Slimy Expulsion Boots reduce your Haste, while Toxic Thorn Footwraps reduce your Stamina. Slimy Expulsion Boots is technically considered the "Best in Slot" option, but either pair is acceptable, and the difference in performance is minimal.

Elemental Lariat: Lariat is technically your strongest embellishment but needs several sockets for that to be the case, making it highly unlikely that it’ll be a good craft early on, outside of extreme RNG cases where you high-roll into a lot of sockets. It’ll be worth crafting once you have easy and consistent access to 7 sockets, so realistically post progression for most people.

Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch: A pretty straightforward damage proc. You can have two of these.

Recommended Crafting Order for Season 3

There are two routes you can take when it comes to crafting in Season 3.

You can either go for either pair of toxic boots along with a Toxified Armor Patch for your two Embellishments, followed by the biggest upgrade available to you each time you can craft, finished up with replacing the Toxified Armor Patch with Elemental Lariat when you have access to enough sockets to make it worth it (which will usually require fully socketed gear).

The alternative route involves the use of double Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch for your two Embellishments, followed by the biggest upgrade available to you each time you can craft, finished up with replacing one of them with Elemental Lariat when you have access to enough sockets to make it worth it (which will usually require fully socketed gear).

Both routes will provide similar output, but going with double Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch will let you avoid the downside of Toxified Embellishments (the loss of either Haste or Stamina in this case). Another thing to take into account is the fact that the theoretically better pair of Toxified Boots (Toxic Thorn Footwraps) make it a decent dps loss to heal yourself, since doing so tends to eat up your procs, so you often end up in situations where you either have to take the dps loss in order to more reliably survive, or simply don’t heal yourself and pray you don’t die. That fact along with the loss of Stamina make double Shadowflame-Tempered Armor a much more appealing option for progression.

Reminder: It is a safe choice to craft the item that sims the highest for you at any given point.

Route 1: Toxified Route

1. Boots: This is one of the two Embellishments you want to use long term, making it a great craft.
2. An off piece with Toxified Armor Patch: The ideal piece here is Legs, but any high main stat off piece that doesn’t break your 4-Set bonus would work.
3. Whichever off piece is the biggest upgrade for you: After completing both of your Embellishments, you should use the crafting system to fill in any gaps in your gear, regardless of the slot.
4. Elemental Lariat: Lariat will be a great craft once you have easy and consistent access to fully socketed gear.

Route 2: Shadowflame Route

1. Whichever off piece is the biggest upgrade for you with Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch: This is one of the two Embellishments you want to use long term, making it a great craft. The ideal pieces here are low budget pieces like Cloak or Bracers, but always craft your biggest short term upgrade early on.
