2024 Scenario
Choose. Your. Guild. It's 1589, and England is victorious! The Spanish Armada has been defeated, and the treasure fleet captured. Now, laden with new riches, Queen Elizabeth is making her way to the Shire of Mount Hope for a victory celebration! Intent on investing the spoils of war in her people, Her Most Gracious Majesty will offer Mount Hope's guilds the opportunity to lobby her for a share through a Tournament of Guilds!
Will you support the industrious and shrewd Merchants Guild? The cunning and sly Thieves Guild? Or the dutiful and loyal Civics Guild? Perhaps you fancy yourself a connoisseur of artisan food, beverage, or wares and support the Crafts Guild. On the other hand, you could be a mercurial and merry-making fan of the Revels Guild.
Whichever guild you choose, fly their banners high and wear their colors proudly. In the process, you can earn them points and help them reap the rewards of the Queen's generosity! Hopefully the competitive spirit remains friendly…

General Information
Where is the event located (physical address)?
The event is located on the grounds of Mount Hope Estate, home of the PA Renaissance Faire—15 miles north of Lancaster and 13 miles east of Hershey. The street address is 2775 Lebanon Rd. Manheim, PA 17545.
Where do I park?
There is plenty of free parking and attendants will direct you when you arrive at the festival. Please follow all traffic signage while on grounds.
What are the hours of operation?
The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire will be open Saturdays and Sundays August 17 through October 27, 2024.
The gates open at 11AM each festival day. The Faire site closes at 8PM each Faire day. As modern lighting is limited on the Faire grounds, for the safety of our guests, merchants, food booths and pour houses will begin closing when the Finale Pub Sing at the Globe Theater begins at 7PM.
What is there to do at the festival?
A cast of colorfully costumed characters fill the Shire with music, dancing, and more! With a wide varity of stage shows daily, unique Royal Kitchens, and scores of artisan merchants with hand-crafted wares, the Renaissance Faire invites guests to immerse themselves in our 35-acre village and experience the fantasy! There will be numerous activities for kids and adults alike, so the PA Renaissance Faire is truly a festival for the whole family!
Can we leave and re-enter the festival?
Re-entry is permitted at the Faire. Be sure to have your hand stamped as you are leaving the gates to ensure readmittance.
Does the Faire accept cash, credit cards or checks?
The Food Booths and Pourhouses accept cash only. Most independent craft merchants accept credit cards. The Faire does not accept personal checks. The Faire site has multiple ATMs on premises and one in the Wine Shop.
What types of foods are available?
Enjoy delicious foods from a variety of Royal Kitchens throughout the Shire! Plus fresh Swashbuckler Ales, Lancaster County Ciders, Mount Hope Wines and Signature Spirit Distilling Co. co*cktails at our Pourhouses! Learn more in the Menu Section.
May I bring my own food/beverage into the Faire?
No outside food, beverages (with the exception of one factory sealed bottle of water which can be refilled at the water fountain at the Privy Lane Privies or by request where soda is sold) or coolers are permitted to be brought onto the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.
However, exceptions are made for Guests with special dietary needs to include food allergies and baby food/formula. Guests with special dietary needs should print and complete the Visitor Allergen Card and present it at the Customer Service Window at the front gate when they arrive at the Faire for approval to bring in special dietary foods for the individual only. The Visitor Allergen Card will be put on file at the First Aid Station.
The site does not have separate allergy-friendly kitchens and is unable to guarantee that a menu item is completely free of allergens. Our menu items are reliant on supplier ingredient labels, and we cannot guarantee the accuracy of the contents of each food item. Allergen advisory statements (e.g., “may contain") are not regulated. It is ultimately up to the individual's discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs.
Guests to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire may also have their hand stamped at the front gate to return to their vehicle and return to the fairegrounds as they wish.
Can I bring my own drinkware?
Beverages will be served in one-use disposable cups. Guests are welcome to transfer beverages to their personal drinkware. Personal drinkware will not be filled directly at the beverage stand.
May I Distribute Free Items?
Please do not. To distribute other materials on site is in violation of our no-soliciting rule. Distributing products (especially those intended as edibles) without a waiver on-site is in violation of state law and contrary to the application process that each member of our Shire Marketplace undergoes to continue to offer quality artisan goods.
Patrons in violation will be asked to leave and escorted from the festival grounds.

Does my Faire admission cover all entertainment or will other fees/tips apply?
Simply put, the PA Renaissance Faire is not a "pass the hat:" event and is paid for by the Queen's Purse. Entertainers hired to perform for our guests receive compensation for their performances and need not rely on guests donations for their livelihood. Our admission price reflects the budget necessary to bring the highest quality entertainment to the Faire's many stages and streets. Guests may encounter traveling musicians busking on the village streets. This also reflects how traveling musicians made their living. Donations to these performers is always appreciated and always voluntary.
Where can I get tickets?
You can purchase advance tickets at the Virtual Box Office.
Can my tickets be scanned from my phone?
Yes, we are able to scan tickets from mobile devices. We ask that you please have your tickets loaded and ready to scan prior to coming to the Front Gate.
