Low and slow BBQ ribs are in my top 5 favorite foods of all time, and they are not number 5. Okay, they are number 4, but that doesn’t take away from how amazing oven-baked BBQ ribs can be. Especially some oven-baked baby back fall off the bone ribs with a side of onions.

Imagine some oven-baked baby back fall off the bone ribs ready for you to eat. That is something to get me thrilled! With this oven-baked BBQ recipe, you won’t even need a grill.

Using the low and slow BBQ method to cook these ribs, the meat falling off the bone is a guarantee.

Low And Slow BBQ Confessions

My oven-baked baby back falls off the bone ribs are great because I learned from the best, my dad. His fall off the bone ribs is what inspired my oven-baked BBQ ribs recipe.

Of course, I made a few tweaks here and there to take the ribs to the next level.

The thing that gives his ribs the edge over mine is that he smokes his ribs on a pit. The low and slow BBQ method I use usually doesn’t include a pit, but I wasn’t going to let that stop me.

There are plenty of people who don’t own or are the best with a pit. For this demographic making, oven-baked baby back ribs are a great option.

With the right seasoning and techniques, your oven will help make you some fall off the bone ribs.

Reasons Your Oven-Baked Baby Back Ribs Are Dry

As great as ribs are, I don’t eat everybody’s ribs. If your ribs are dry then I don’t want it and raw onions won’t help either. Eating dry ribs may not be delightful, but it is not the end of the world.

Ribs coming out too dry is because the ribs were left in the oven for too long at high temperatures.

To resolve this issue, try to lower the temperature to 300 degrees. If you are wondering “how long do ribs take at 300?” then the answer to that is 3 hours.

Cooking the ribs this way while keeping the ribs covered will have the ribs moist and falling off the bone.

Too Raw To Eat Your Oven-Baked Baby Back Ribs

Unlike raw onions, we don’t want to eat our meat that way. Rawness is caused by not cooking the ribs long enough. Again, cook the ribs at a low temperature for 2 hours and 30 minutes with the ribs covered, and that rawness will be no more.

Preparing Oven-Baked Baby Back Fall Off The Bone Ribs

Put the slab of ribs in a mixing bowl and add the liquid smoke and Worcestershire sauce. Next, add the dry ingredient to the mixing bowl and rub the ingredient into the ribs.

After you rub the ingredient into the ribs, you can let the ribs marinate overnight. This is an option and is not necessary if you don’t have the patience.

If you want to eat your ribs with raw onions, pickled jalapeños, and/or pickles, you can let them marinate as well.

Wrap the ribs with aluminum foil and make sure that the ribs are covered. Covering the ribs is essential for helping the ribs fall off the bone.

Putting The Oven-Baked Baby Back Ribs In The Oven

With this low and slow BBQ method of cooking ribs, the oven will need to be preheated to 300 degrees.

When the preheating process is done, put the baby back ribs in the oven and let them cook.

At 300 degrees, the cooking time is 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Oven-Baked BBQ Ribs For The Win

Once the ribs are ready, add the barbecue sauce to the ribs. Spread the barbecue sauce over the ribs using a spoon or any other kitchen utensil and broil the ribs at a low temperature for 15-20 minutes.

Next, remove the saucy BBQ ribs from the oven and get ready to chow down. The oven-baked baby back ribs will be hot, so let them cool off for 10 minutes.

Are Beef Or Pork Ribs Better?

I think both beef and pork ribs are delicious, however, I usually go with the pork ribs. If you are deciding whether to cook beef or pork ribs, I would advise that you cook the meat you enjoy most between the two.

For your information, raw onions and pickled jalapeños go good with any type of oven-baked BBQ.

What Is The Best Type Of Ribs?

No matter the time, or the place, if you ask me “what is the best type of ribs?” My response will be “baby back ribs.” Baby back ribs have the perfect lean meat to fat ratio compared to the other types of ribs.

Alternative For BBQ Ribs

Even though the recipe requires BBQ sauce, you don’t have to use that if you don’t want to. You can eat the ribs without any sauce. What I do sometimes is put hot sauce on my ribs.

You may think that is kind of strange, but don’t knock it until you try it. You can also replace the BBQ sauce with ketchup and broil the ribs afterward.

Oven Versus Pit When Cooking Pork Ribs

This oven-baked baby back ribs recipe is based on using the oven. The people who will benefit most from this recipe are the ones that do not own a pit, or those who are not good at using a pit.

A major pro for using an oven instead of a pit is that with an oven, you are not restricted to the weather. When you are mindful of the weather, this recipe can still be beneficial to people who prefer the pit over the oven.

Overall, both low and slow BBQ method is good to use.
