Dahi puri is an Indian chaat type snack made with fried mini puri and sweetened curd as main ingredient.

It is my top most favorite among the chaat recipes! It's just not for me, but popular among Indian, mainly in north India as street food. Let's see how to make this at home hygienically.

I can just live with chaats. The sweet chutney, sweetened dahi, each and everything in it, I just love and enjoy it every bite!

I love pani puri, sev puri a lot too. Bhel puri is not my plate of chaat, except if it is from Kailash parbat.

It will be only for my sake if we visit that restaurant. Only 2-3 times I have been there. That includes 2 party treats 😀 So here’s my version of dahi puri.

Ingredients

Puri - Crispy mini puri serves like a shell, holds the other ingredients in this dish. It can be store bought or homemade as well.

Curd - Plain yogurt or called as Dahi, is the star ingredient as the name indicates. Use fresh stock which is not sour. Check out my how to make curd at home post.

Green chutney - Takes just 5 minutes to prepare at home and you can make it ahead. Check ingredients for link for all these ingredients.

Sweet chutney - I usually make it at home as it's the best I would say. One of the main ingredient in any chaat, I love it a lot.

Sev - These mini crisps are must in my chaat items. This too can be store bought or homemade sev. Make sure to buy nylon sev (thin ones) if you are buying.

Other than this, I have used boiled peas and potato for filling along with chilli powder, chaat masala powder and coriander leaves.

You can prepare chutneys, sev, puri beforehand 2-3 days well ahead. After that making chaat at home is easy!

You can also use the pani puri papad if you are living abroad. These are easily available in Indian super markets. Source this and stock them when you visit India.

Air fry, microwave, deep fry these any time you want and it's so handy. I have shared Air fryer version in the below short video, check it out.

You can also use oven like I have shared in my Instagram video.
