Adam Driver stars as Enzo Ferrari in the biographical film “Ferrari,” in theaters on Christmas Day.
Ahead of the release of the film set during a turbulent few months in 1957 when the Italian automaker’s private and professional lives threatened to careen out of control, we dig into the AP archives for highlights of the life of the real Ferrari and the iconic road and racing car brand he founded.
Ferrari drove racing cars for Alfa Romeo, before establishing his own auto works in Italy in the 1940s.
He died in 1988 aged 90.
